Visit one of the best-preserved examples of a river lot farm in Winnipeg: Home to both the oldest building and the oldest house in our city. Seven Oaks House is an imposing log mansion, built for a wealthy Scottish-Métis trading family headed by John Inkster and Mary Sinclair-Inkster. Their home is still decorated with original examples of beautiful beadwork, embroidery, and the earliest hand-made local furniture. Today their restored homestead offers visitors a glimpse of life in the Red River Settlement between 1831 and 1912.
