Clothing Swap!
Site 1, Assiniboine Park

Please read completely if you are planning on going to this event!

The swap will be taking place at Site 1 in Assiniboine park! It’s on the extreme western edge of the park, even west of the Zoo. It’s very flat. It’s a huge site and we’ll have room to spread tables far apart from each other to aid in distancing and there will be plenty of space for ALL THE CLOTHES.

Here are map links to the exact location:

I’m so ready to swap some old clothes out for some newer clothes!

Here’s the plan to keep us all as safe as possible from covid! The plan for how the swap will work follows the covid plan 🙂

-It’s gonna be outdoors in a park! We’ll be bringing our (huge) tents to use as changing rooms
– Proof of vax will be required
– Masks will be required whenever you’re near the swap area /other people and we strongly encourage you to use an N95/kn95. A few will be available at the gate
-hand sanitizer everywhere!
-I’ll be doing a Rapid test beforehand, I encourage everyone with access to them to consider doing so as well
-*obviously* but I gotta say it, please don’t come if you feel even kinda shitty in a way that could maybe be covid, or if you’ve maybe been exposed to covid, just please don’t let this be the thing that gives anyone covid if you have any doubts okay??

Here’s the swap plan!

The article continues below

It is FREE to attend and you don’t have to bring *ANYTHING* to take home clothing. It will be a very civil and chill free-for-all, and we’re all gonna be super cool about sharing the good stuff right? Right!

The picnic site booking does cost money and I’d appreciate if folks who are able throw a few bucks toward it. There will be a donation jar and e-transfer address.

We’ll arrive early to set up tents and tables- you’re more than welcome to join and help out but masking may be more lax at this point as we do the manual labor part

There will be a sign in table, please provide a name and a way to contact you, and show proof of vax

Clothing will be sorted by approximate size and will not be separated by gender. There will be an extremely low tolerance for any kind of body shaming (EVEN YOUR OWN) or any bullshit around gender norms, racism, disability, poverty, etc.

Early drop off or pickup of pre-sorted clothing is possible, so we can put it out before people arrive and you don’t have to tote it to the park! Contact Ashlyn! Clothing must be fairly freshly washed and in reasonable repair.

Bring accessories, shoes, whatever clothing adjacent things that need to find new homes as well! We’ll have a spot for that!

This is an all adult sizes event – no children/baby clothing or children please. Your well behaved, covid-safe teens that wear adult sizes are welcome though.

I really want to make this work! Please let me know if you have any ideas for improving accessibility or safety.
