CaRaVaN at the Cube – Summer 2022 Open Mic + Open Stage
@ The Cube! Old Market Square

CARAVAN AT THE CUBE IS BACK!

Presented by The Purple Room and The Exchange District BIZ. Supported by The Park Theatre, X-Cues Café & Lounge, and diningwithdonald.com.

After pandemic-related closures caused the iconic Cube stage at Old Market Square to not open for 2020 or 2021, CaRaVaN Open Mic + Open Stage returns to our summer home in the Exchange District under the sun and stars. CaRaVaN at the Cube will run every Monday from May 23 through September 19 (except July 18 during the Winnipeg Fringe).

CaRaVaN is an entirely volunteer-run, “Anything Goes” open mic that has been running every week for over 10 years. Music of all genres, spoken word, comedy, magic, dance, storytelling, or any other number of other unique performances could hit the stage on any given Monday. CaRaVaN regularly features artists with a wide range of skill levels — from experienced performers trying out new things to folks taking the stage for the first time — and we welcome them all!

Sign up begins at 6:30 PM, with the show running 7 to 10:00 PM. As always, musicians performing will get 2 songs, while all others will have approximately 5 minutes to do their thing. We will start experimenting with streaming the shows again, so if you can’t attend, just tune in on YouTube or Facebook.

While these events are outdoors, and thus extremely safe as far as COVID concerns go, we recognize that everyone has different levels of risk they’re willing to take. So out of courtesy, we still ask you to maintain a reasonable distance from folks you don’t already know. Mask use may make some feel more comfortable attending outdoor events, so please wear them if you’d like!

CaRaVaN at the Cube is generally a rain or shine event (making use of the cover of the stage during rain). During extreme weather, we may decide last minute to move to X-Cues Cafe & Lounge or do a virtual-only event. We will update folks on this event, on our Facebook Group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/caravanopenstage), and on www.caravanopenmic.com.
