June 24. July 29. August 26. For three evenings this summer, four iconic alleys in the Exchange District will be transformed into explorable venues. Alleyways in The Exchange is a neighbourhood-wide event taking place on the last Friday of each summer month, featuring a market, a gallery, audio performances, and an art lounge all against the backdrop of a National Historic Site in Winnipeg’s most walkable urban neighbourhood.
Alleyways Market (est. 2016) is a distinctly Exchange District take on outdoor markets, curated by Luckygirl Pop Up. Part food market & part maker pop-up, the alley will be filled with a mix of handmade goods, ready to eat snacks and locally produced food to take home. This market is well known for it’s amazing summer nights vibe that is popular with both the neighbourhood and beyond!

Alleyways Gallery is an art focused alley between Albert St and Arthur St curated by Bevvy Teyems, a custom framing shop and art market in the Exchange. Each event will be unique and accessible to all, stretching from traditional gallery to installations and community workshops.
Curated by send + receive, Alleyways Sounds brings experimental audio art to the alley behind Pantages Theatre on John Hirsch ave. Events include pop-up installations and live performances spanning free jazz, electronic music, poetry, sound and visual art.
Pop-up bars, Secret Cinema, DJs—anything goes in the illuminated drayway tucked into the Galt building (Artspace).
