Winnipeg’s Santa Claus Parade won’t be heading down Portage Avenue this year — but organizers aren’t letting COVID-19 completely ruin the party. They will have some fun activities and surprises in the works to help you celebrate the season., even though we can’t be together. Until they launch these 2021 activities, they invite you to visit their Family Activities section on their website winnipegsantaparade.com that will keep the spirit of the season alive.
The Manitoba Hydro Winnipeg Santa Claus Parade Facebook page states:
With uncertainty around the fourth wave and our primary audience being children who can’t yet be vaccinated, plus other considerations, our board of directors has made the difficult decision to err of the side of caution and wait until 2022 to bring the magic of the season back to downtown Winnipeg
The yearly parade happens along Portage Avenue and is the city’s longest-running free community event, established in 1909.
