84 new cases of COVID-19 as of 9:30 AM, October 24

Public health officials advise the 49th and 50th deaths due to COVID-19 have been reported, both females in their 70s from the Winnipeg health region. Both cases were previously announced and one is linked to an outbreak at Misericordia Place.

The data shows there were:

• eight cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region;
• 15 cases in the Interlake–Eastern health region;
• 15 cases in the Northern health region;
• 24 cases in the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region; and
• 91 cases in the Winnipeg health region.
Laboratory system data, including daily testing numbers, total testing numbers and the test positivity rate, will be unavailable today due to scheduled systems upgrades. Data is expected to be available tomorrow.

Governor Semple School (150 Hartford Ave) October 14, 2020 A confirmed case of COVID-19 attended the school on Oct. 14 when the individual may have been infectious. Based on the public health investigation. Close contacts connected to the case have been identified, contacted directly by public health and advised to self-isolate (quarantine). Based on the public health investigation, this exposure to the school was assessed to be low. The infection was not believed to be acquired at school.
Kidz Korner Infant Childcare Inc. (3708 Roblin Blvd) October 15, 2020 Anyone who is a close contact has received a letter notifying that they are a close contact and been advised to self-isolate (quarantine). The centre will remain open to all other students and staff, who can continue to attend centre in person.

Grant Park High School (450 Nathaniel St.) October 13, 2020 Anyone who is a close contact has received a letter notifying that they are a close contact and been advised to self-isolate (quarantine). The school will remain open to all other students and staff, who can continue to attend school in person.

(Constable Finney School) (25 Anglia Ave.) October 13 to 15, 2020 Anyone who is a close contact has received a letter notifying that they are a close contact and been advised to self-isolate (quarantine). The centre will remain open to all other students and staff, who can continue to attend centre in person.
