With the WHO now declaring the COVID-19 the community must be ready to help those who are at higher risk and may not be able to leave their houses in the coming weeks.

Winnipeg resident Sheilah Restall is trying to organize community members who will volunteer to bring supplies (or help them order food online for delivery) to at-risk individuals so that these individuals do not have to leave their house. (Please note that the volunteers are not expected to pay for the supplies, and the recipients should be paid upon delivery).

If you would like to volunteer to help someone get supplies please sign up using the linked form. Please note that you can help them in many ways including:

  • shopping and delivering the supplies
  • helping them order online for delivery by the store (as some people don’t know how to do this)
  • collecting in store pick-up and delivering it to themHow you do this is up to you and the person you are helping. Please also note that you are not responsible for paying for the supplies, and should be reimbursed by the individual you are helping.PLEASE NOTE: The Initiative is not validating or checking any of the people signing up, we are merely connecting individuals, so please be cautious and keep yourself safe.
