- Videos on how to set up your picnic space at home
- Healthy picnic snacks to make
- How to wash your hands and keep your stuffed animal safe
- How to make your teddy bear a cast or bandage its boo boo
- At-home experiments from scientists at Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba
- A special episode of The Good Day Show, which airs on CHTV – the hospital’s closed circuit TV station for kids in hospital
While the 34th annual outdoor Teddy Bears’ Picnic at Assiniboine Park was cancelled per guidelines to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in the community, we hope you’ll join us for Teddy Bears’ Picnic Gone Virtual – a fun, free event for families at home that includes health education for kids!
Statement from the organizer, The Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba:
At the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba we are continuing our commitment to the kids during this difficult time of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). We continue to work with our donors who are part of our family, and the leadership of the HSC-Winnipeg Children’s Hospital and CHRIM in advancing critical projects like our new Children’s Cardiac Centre, essential research, and required lifesaving equipment.
However, as we monitor the evolving impact of the COVID-19 on our communities and are in regular dialogue with local, provincial and Canadian health authorities, we have made the decision to cancel some events that would have large groups of people together. As a result we have cancelled this year’s Annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic. We thank you all for your understanding and support of this event. We hope to see you and your bears out next year.
